About Kate
Kate is an experienced clinical psychologist in private practice in the Dunsborough-Yallingup area of the Southwest. She has worked for many years with adults, adolescents, children and their families across a range of treatment settings including government departments and private practice. Using only evidence-based therapies, Kate is committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for people to explore their struggles. She is warm, compassionate and down-to-earth, helping clients feel comfortable within the therapeutic relationship. Her passion lies in helping people gain insight into their challenges and in working together therapeutically to facilitate growth and healing.
Kate brings a wealth of life experience to her practice, and has returned to the beautiful Dunsborough-Yallingup region where she now works with adults, parents and adolescents aged 18 years and over. She uses only treatment modalities which are backed by scientific research with the aim of achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients. These include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Attachment-based therapies. Following an initial and thorough assessment, she works collaboratively with her clients in tailoring the best treatment plan to meet their unique needs.

Growing up in Esperance and living in the Southwest for many years before working in the Pilbara and Esperance-Goldfields regions for a decade, Kate has experience being with people from all walks of life. She holds a deep respect for Aboriginal people and their culture. She is an ocean lover who finds peace being surrounded by nature and art.
Katherine Back (Kate) is registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with endorsement to practice in the area of Clinical Psychology. Clinical psychologists must complete 8 years of training and supervised practice to gain their specialist title. Accredited Masters and Doctoral-level training in clinical psychology provide the highest levels of psychology training in Australia. This level of training facilitates the development of high-level specialised skills in mental health assessment and evidence-based treatment planning and intervention.
